A rare photo looking east along part of Paynes Lane.
These cottages are still standing but the gaps between them and the whole of the
right hand side are now full of bungalows and houses. The road still narrows as in
the photo as it approaches Wilton Road giving rise to a difficult junction. Paynes
Lane runs past the playing field and Community Centre, connects with Lime Kiln Lane and
finally meets Long Lane just before the West End Public House (now called the Feltwell Bell). |
